Eastminster offers members several opportunities to share their knitting and crocheting skills while enjoying fellowship with others. The two knitting groups are Afghan Ministry and Cool Knitting, Warm Fellowship.
Afghan Ministry meets the first Wednesday of each month in the Haines House from 9:00 am to 10:00 am. Each year we make 12 afghans which are distributed primarily to Habitat for Humanity, but also to Red Cross, Big Brothers, Big Sisters, and to local organizations which serve those experiencing emergencies or need.
Cool Knitters, Warm Fellowship meets every Wednesday from 10:00 am to Noon in the Haines House Parlor. Members of this group will not only share new patterns but will also teach you to knit if you haven’t yet learned this skill. It is not necessary to stay the two hours. Come and go as you wish.
Special Projects completed by these groups include:
• Prayer Shawls
• Blocks to use for the afghans
• Scarves, dishcloths, hats, hot pads, scrubbies etc
• Many items for our Christmas Shop
If you are interested in joining, just come to the Haines House parlor on Wednesday. If you’d like more information, contact the church office at 717-755-6222.
